Image Slideshow enhancements for the future?

Hi The new image slideshow is a lot more versatile in 1.8 which is great. I have a few more suggestions for the future... 1. Add the up/down arrows to the sliders so it's easier to make fine adjustments 2. More flexibility with the captions e.g. being able to centre, left and right justify the caption text which is useful when you have a background colour set 3. Ability to set different caption options per slide. At the moment the caption effects are effective on all slides 4. if you have a URL set, then Click Image to Enlarge should be greyed out as you can't do both at once (and vice versa) 5. When using Caption Sliders, the max value for some options are 95, others 100... it's inconsistent and confusing... OK that's it! :) Thanks for listening as always! |

Thanks Paul, and a couple more.... 1. When I use the pulse or flash effects, the effect happens before the first slide. So I get effect, slide, effect slide... I think that it would work better if you saw the first slide, then the effect next... so slide, effect, slide effect... 2. The transparent option is great! Thanks for the add. Transparent works for the whole of the image slider. So if I use a colour as I am using the Pulse effect I cannot have thumbnails as it inherits the colour of the effect. So, when using thumbnails I would like to have the option of setting thumbnail background independently of the rest of the image slider... (hope that makes sense!) Thanks! |

I love the Image Slider but am still using a WOW slider as well because they have many more options for Transition Effects. More sophisticated effects would be a great addition....

The FX slider has 29 different transition effects and can also be set to random.

"The FX slider has 29 different transition effects and can also be set to random." Roddy, for some reason it doesn't seem to work for me. I publish a test page to a folder but no photos are visible, just a wheel in the middle...Any suggestions? ------------------------------- Yelena MacBook Pro OS X 10.10.3 IMac 21" OS X 10.10.3 |

Thanks for pointing this out. The latest version of EverWeb is causing quite a few problems with widgets - some with the method of inserting jQuery and a lot of others which use the Font Awesome icons. I have updated the FX slider widget to overcome this problem. I need to go through dozens of widgets to test and update them but in the meantime, if you Contact Me I will send you the new version. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Roddy, is it possible to post a list of the 'problem' widgets? I use quite a lot of widgets also. The list can help me to trace them. How can we get the 'updated' widgets? Is replacing the widget enough or I have to recreate them? I understand you have a lot of work for the moment, but your widgets are a great added value. So, wish you good luck. I hope you can figure it out very soon. Last edit 10 years ago ------------------------------- Kind regards, Raphael Pairoux |

My problem is that I don't know what the problems are! All the widgets were fine when I installed the first release version of EverWeb 1.8 - 1404 I think Then another version was released (1412) because a few users were having problems. This is the version which caused problems with widgets that use jQuery and also broke all the widgets that use Font Awesome. Now I have another version 1.8.2 (1407) which still has the same problems. The FX widget problem was probably introduced when EverWeb supplied a copy of jQuery in the ew_js folder. It overwrote the version that the widget uses. I have since fixed this widget but it will now only work in V1.8. I have not updated the huge number of widgets that use jQuery to the latest method of inserting the script simply because the old way still worked when the first release version of EverWeb appeared and it is a rather large task for me to send out thousands of email updates. It is also a big pain for all those using the widgets to install the new versions, open every site that uses them in V1.8 and republish the entire site. I also have to consider all those who are stilling using older versions of EverWeb. There's also the question of this version breaking all the Icon widgets which I would like to see resolved before I undertake the task of updating, testing and sending out updates for over 400 widgets and releasing the new ones! ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb!
