| I had the odd formatting problems mentioned in other discussions, i.e., strange fonts, overprinting, other weird stuff, on my website after publishing a few site changes a couple of days ago. I've also had a "cannot find file" error that appeared and then disappeared as i was attempting to publish. Somehow the formatting righted itself; I'm not sure what I did that made that happen. I have now updated to v 1.8.1, build 1412, made some changes to my site and, in order to avoid similar publishing problems, I followed the suggestion to publish the entire site from the File menu mentioned in some discussion somewhere. It has been publishing for about seven hours now (It's a 1 GB site). That seems excessive, and I am tempted to assume it's hung up and just shut the app down and try later. Is this a know issue? | |

A website that is 1GB in size will take a long time to publish. It depends on your Internet connection. Go to File->Edit Publishing Settings and make sure the progress bar is moving. Generally if it has hung up you will see an error message. You don't alway shave to publish your entire site, just if you had formatted errors with 1.8, publishing your entire site would help. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| Thanks, Paul. Apparently a poltergeist of some sort. Progress bar simply said "connecting," so I cancelled and tried to publish site changes from the file menu. It got hung up on connecting again, so I closed the application, restarted and was able to publish the changes successfully. I'm very glad to know I don't have to publish the entire site henceforth to protect against formatting errors. That would have been unworkable! | |
