Viewing Always on top.....

Always on top.....

Using the new feature in EV 1.8 of full width and fixed position i want the elements to remain on top when the screen is moved up..

For example logo, menu and tag line to remain at the top of the screen in the fixed position when the page is moved.
The menu already has this feature built in it seems as this is always on top however the other elements of the master page get covered by the content on the page.

I have read in the forum this was a requested feature in 1.8 and Paul made reference to it being present in the new release, can you please confirm to me where this option is for me.

Try this, hopefully what you are looking for

Thanks for the link jim, however this isn't what I'm looking for.
I want a fixed header on my master page (which I know everweb does now in 1.8) however on the web pages when the content moves up I want to the content to go behind the fixed header so the header is always visible (fixed).

Sorry about that. I just tried it and this is what I did, not sure if it is what you want.
I went to Master page and made a shape, in Metrics Inspector (on right) I chose Full Width and Fixed Position. I went to my page and added a text box. On scroll it showed through the fixed head. Back on Master and selecting the head, then Arrange- Always on Top solved it. I do not have a nav menu, so did not need to deal with that. Did you make sure that the Opacity is also set to 100% for the Fixed Head?

this is from Roddys site
The z-index property is used to stack web page elements from the back to the front. An element with a high z-index will appear in front of one with a lower z-index.
The default value for z-index is zero. Objects can be sent further to the back using a negative value.
The EverWeb default navigation has its z-index set to 1000 so the header div's is set to 999. This places the header background behind the navigation and in front the page content.

Also if you right click on an object you can choose Bring to Front and/or Bring Forward. Maybe mess with those?

Hi Chris,

Under the Arrange menu select 'Always on Top' and that will do what you want.
