Images fuzzy when published.

Im having an issue with 1.8 where the logo images I have created are fuzzy when I output to the browser.
The logo is in .png as i need to retain the alpha channel however I have also tried .tif with the same results.

I have attached both the original png file and a screen shot of the image from Safari for comparison.

Hopefully you guys have a work around for this.

PS the fuzzy image is not as enlarged in the browser and is infact smaller than the original photoshop image i created,

Why not show the real thing : the page itself with the image.

In the meantime, check that the size of the image on the canvas is 251x119 pixels.

I used the image on a EW page and it looks fine.

BTW, the image looks jaggy. Why not use PhotoShop to its full potential and anti-alias the text.

Or use svg. Then you can scale indefintely and when you zoom a page the image stays sharp.

Here's a sample png vs svg :

I pop a link up later with the image on it. it's reduced in everweb slightly however to test I did pop the image on the page in the original size attached above with the same fuzzy results. Interestingly enough I notice if I export to .jpg from photoshop it's fine but a background. I need alpha hence .png

Cheers jumbo I'll give that a try later. I'll keep you posted :-)

Add the @2x string before the file extension so the file becomes;

myimage@2x.jpg or myimage@2x.png

depending on the file extension.

Then mark the page with this logo as changed by making a slight modification and republish.
