The reason your audio files won't work is that the file path to them is the one to the local version on your Mac like this...

file://localhost/Users/jmm/Library/Application%20Support/EverWeb/8D8F92D88EAC4501B5FA8240200D6493.everweb/Assets/External%20Files/Breathin_SB_128.mp3//file

... rather than the relative path to the file in the ewExternalFiles folder.

I have tried to replicate this problem by creating the player in V1.8 and also by creating it in V1.75 and opening it in V1.8. It works as planned.

I would suggest you open a trouble ticket with EverWeb support, reference this topic and also include the URL to a published page with an audio player on it.

If EverWeb is crashing regularly, you also need to submit the crash reports to EverWeb support. If you don't do this, they can't troubleshoot the problem.

Are you publishing directly to FTP or to an EverWeb account or are you publishing to a folder first?

Did you republish your website online somewhere where I can see these issues?

Did you go to File->Publish Entire Site from the File menu at the top of your screen?

If you continue to have these issues I will provide instructions for sending us your project files.

I believe I have recognized the problem.

You just need to download the 1.8.1 beta version and go to File->Publish Entire Site.

That should address this issue.

If it does not, please provide your website URL so I can check.

Hi Paul,

I'm having the same problem. I tried downloading the beta version and going to file--> publish entire site, but my audio files still won't play. I used the audio widget and mp3 files.

Here's the link: http://lilahshreeve.com/voiceover.html

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Lilah,

Your website still shows that it is published with 1.8.0 build 1404. Are you sure you published with the new 1.8.1 version? Can you try again and make sure you publish the entire site?
