Is this something you guys plan on adding anytime soon? I need to be able to adjust the pic within that box frame once I drag it in there. My steps in iWeb are as follows:

1) I select a square shape
2) adjust that shape to my desired size
3) Drag and drop a photo in that box (default doesn't allow for this. It requires another step - clicking on "image fill" first)
4) THEN, double clicking on picture to give the capability to EDIT/MOVE the photo within the frame (square shape). Essentially allowing the square to act as a frame while adjusting my photo to any size I choose.

You guys add #4 and I will buy your product. It seems fairly simple, yes? I'm not an end user. I have a company where more than 4 or 5 will be needed for our computers. Plus, we are constantly teaching others how to use iWeb...instead it would be your product.

Thanks!

Have you tried the Mask option in the toolbar? Is this what you mean?

The image fill must be set to 'Stretch' under Inspector->Shape Options->Fill for this to work.

Let me know.

Hey Paul-

The Mask option is good for a different application. I want to do the opposite. The reason for this is that I'm dealing with a lot of pictures (100+) and I need a template that I can drop a pic into. So think of 10 columns by 10 rows of thumbnails (people's faces). When I drag the photo into the frame (box shape) I need to be able to adjust/edit that photo as the photos I'm dropping in come in all different sizes and shapes.
The Mask option...I'd have to manually "crop" each photo...100 pics gets to be a little much. It would cripple my workflow.
Basically, the box is acting as a frame for the photo that sits 'inside' the box and can be moved around/resized, etc.

You guys have done a great job so far, but this, in my opinion, would help simplify the process even further.

Thanks,

Damon

It's something we can ask but just FYI in version 1.8 when you drag an image onto a shape that is set to Image Fill it will take on the options of that shape. You can't yet move it around but that may be a time saver for you.

Version 1.8 can be found in the Announcements section of this forum but is still in testing.

Thanks! I will dl 1.8 and see how it works, but without being able to move it around we're only half way there. I'll check it out and respond. Thanks again Paul.

Hey Paul- I tried 1.8 and it's no different. Let me know if you guys update it anytime soon. That's the only thing holding me back from using your product.

Hi Damon,

I was reviewing your feature request and had some questions for you.

I do understand what you're looking for but can you show me an application that does what you want so that I can be sure I am on the same page?

I looked at Pages and Photos and it doesn't seem like it remembers the masking settings when you change an image.
