It does this on my iMac 27 Retina too so the problem is the @2x version of the image.

Your navigation doesn't have text because it is created using images which is not a good idea. The image is a grey rectangle with the "text" centered in it. The @2x version of the image has the "text" centered horizontally but not vertically.

If you drag the images onto the desktop and open them both in Preview.app you will see the problem.

You have the Horizontal Navigation widget. Why not use it?

Hi Roddy, thanks for your information ... i see the problem, the reason why i am not using the horizontal navigation is because i need an exact width for the navigation squares irrespective of the length of the word inside ... as far as i see it, it is not possible to adjust this

... Hi Roddy, sorry for confusion tried it again and you are right ... can adjust it with horizontal and vertical padding
User: Thomas B. 11 years ago
... but anyway it doesn't lead to same square width because the square width has to do with the length of the word inside the square - irrespective how i adjust the padding ... or did i got something wrong?

I have sent you a modified version of the Horizontal navigation widget with a setting for min width so that you can make all the blocks equal.
