Is it possible to create a responsive blank page in EW?

What exactly do you mean by a responsive blank page?

It's the content on the page that would be responsive.

EverWeb does not yet support responsive design but it does allow for mobile websites.

Version 1.8 provides dynamic, full width objects and new background options to add some responsive features to your site. It will be released next week officially but a beta version can be found in the announcements section of this forum.

A 3th party form requires a responsive page to place on to make it function properly. Can this be done with 1.8?

Paste the code for you responsive form into an HTML snippet and it will become unresponsive.

Responsive items have a percentage rather than a finite width. EverWeb inserts the code into a div with a finite width and you can adjust this width to whatever you want.

You can insert the form but you can't make it responsive.

Most items can be made responsive by giving them a percentage width and auto height rather than a fix width and height. If you place the item into a fixed width layout it has nothing to respond to.

In responsive layouts, items such as forms are not usually made responsive and I can't think of any reason to do so. They are usually kept at a fixed width and their position relative to the other objects is changed for different browser/screen widths. A large form with a column layout would be the exception.

An example is this page created with the Flex widgets. The form is in a column to the right of the info text when viewed on wider screens and switches to a position below the text on the narrower screens of smart phones.

Let me know if the widget works . It may be useful for others who want to insert a responsive shopping cart thingy in EverWeb.

@Roddy,
Unfortunately, as you know, it didn't work.
In some cases, EW needs a responsive page to embed forms, shopping carts, etc.
Maybe in the future. In the meantime I am forced to use another webbuilder for this.

The Flex HTML widget allows you to do just that.

You would need to insert the HTML code for the item plus referrence any supporting scripts - either from the remote server using absolute file paths or via relative paths if you can download them and insert them into EverWeb via the External Files folder.

More realistically, it would be better to use a cart setup which allows you to create your own header/footer and links so that you don't have to incorporate it into EverWeb but run it externally in much the same way as you would a blog.
