Masking an image behaves strangely

when I clock the mask button, the mask square that appears on top of the image is almost invisible with no visible drag points. maybe adding some dark squares on each corner would help make it easier. right now I have to guess if I'm going to drag or re-size. if the mouse pointer changes shape from point to drag, it would be helpful as well. once I mask an image, if I hit mask again to adjust the mask, it would remove my previous mask completely and treats the image like it was never masked before. can this be fixed please? overtime I need to move the mask around for 1 pixel i have to remarks the whole thing all over. it's kind of a pain. and i find it very strange that I'm not allowed to drag images off the screen. i'm not sure if this is on purpose or not. what if I only want to show half of the image? so I need to mask the image and put it on the side? and then i try to adjust the mask and the whole thing happens again. |

When you mask, there is the dotted line showing what will show. Put the cursor ON that dotted line, click and move the line to where you want it. If you drag half an image off the page, how would/could it be handled? I would crop it and bring it into EW. |

I see.so i have to click in the mask area to see the 8 tiny control squares. now that I know that it's fine, but i'm not sure how a learner would figure that out. editing the mask still is a burden though. it unmasks the image. try masking an image, then try editing the mask. it's a pain. |

Why use a mask when you can just crop the image prior to importing into EverWeb? There's no point in uploading a larger file size than is necessary and then compounding the problem by using a mask.

Sorry for the late reply. Try setting the shape to 'Draggable anywhere' from the Metrics inspector. Then drag it to the edge and mask it. It shouldn't jump again when you unmask and re-mask it. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

| Paul, he wants to drag the image so that half the image is on the page and half is off the page. If you select an image and check the Draggable box and drag the image halfway off the page, when you click the Draggable box again, the image jumps back on the page. I am guessing this is due to it being impossible to have an image hanging off the side of a webpage where no page exists. | |

Yes, he can do that with my suggestion above and masking the image so that he cuts off the part that is supposed to be outside the page margins. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
