Blogs. Really. Please.

Yes there's a workaround, and I'm using it. But it's a huge pain in the butt compared with iWeb. I have literally hundreds of web pages in blog format to retrieve for my website. That needs more than a workaround

I'm having a similar problem. Without a blogging function by the time my renewal is up, I'm going to have to go elsewhere. Too bad, because I really like Everweb otherwise. I'm losing too much business without having a real blogging function. Plus the Facebook preview function is hit or miss, and most of the time, no matter what I do, I don't get the preview. Everweb, any chance we'll get one in the NEAR FUTURE??

We're working hard on this, I'm sorry but I don't have anything I can announce at this time.

It's not hit or miss. Please show your website URL so I can help explain what may have gone wrong with it. It could be a number of reason but it does work properly. I am sorry you are having issues with it and I am happy to help you solve it but it does work reliably.

Why is it a huge pain? Can you explain how the process is different in EverWeb than it is for iWeb? Are you using a master template for your blog pages? It should be almost as quick as how you did it with iWeb.

Which page would you like? I use the Facebook widget, follow the instructions, and sometimes the preview comes out right. Other times it doesn't. I try to write my weekly post by Wednesday, and I post the link in my Mastermind group on Thursday. If it doesn't work, it takes days before it works. I don't know why it is inconsistent. Here is one that never worked. http://www.consciousgroovelifecoaching.com/blog/you-can-change-your-mindset.html

I greatly appreciate any help you can give me on this. Thanks.

Hey Shari

I hear ya about the (missing) blog function.. But you've done a fine job of putting a blog on your site! I like the way the menu drops down listing all your entries.

@Shari: You are using version 1.7.5 so it looks like you are either using a widget to include the Facebook data or you are pasting it into the page header field.

You have the wrong og:url (open graph URL) set for this page. You can always test your Facebook social media details on their open graph testing page.

Version 1.8 handles all of this for you automatically.

Can you delete your current method of including the Facebook information and use the Inspector->Page Settings and then Social Media image feature in version 1.8 of EverWeb. Then publish your site and go to the above Facebook open graph testing page. Enter your URL there and press the 'Fetch New Scrape information' button.

It will work, or at least should if everything is done correctly. If not, please let us know. But please do so in a new topic since this topic is related to blogging.
