You need the latest beta version to do this as we just added it (EasyWeb Beta 9). You need to set the image to Fill-> Stretch under the Shape Options Inspector (2nd tab). Then go to the Metrics Inspector (third tab) and see the fill offsets settings near the bottom. (NOTE: This feature will change soon to be under the Shape Fill Options) ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

In iWeb when you drag a pict into a template that has a photo with masking, the photo you drop automatically goes in with masking. Once the new pict id dropped you can double click it and slide it up and down to the desired area.

A visual representation: iWeb would basically ignore anything outside of the bounding box. |

Yes I know how iWeb worked. When you drop an image onto EasyWeb you can use the masking feature from the Inspector just like iWeb. We may make EasyWeb's masking work the same as iWeb in the future, but for now you need to use the Inspector. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

This isn't very intuitive. And basically is just adjusting the size of the photo

Maybe I am missing something here maybe you could provide a video showing how you do this in EasyWeb. Here is how I do it in iWeb: http://youtu.be/GP37CWVglW4 |

Its fairly obvious how to do it using the Fill Offsets slider to magnify the image and then adjust the coordinates to position the image in the frame. The problem is that you can't enter a minus value in the boxes and its a slow process when using the up/down arrows. I never did use this feature in iWeb since it takes only a few seconds to launch an image in Preview, do a Shift/Command/3 and drag it in if you don't have a dedicated app for cropping and resizing. Preparing your images outside of the web design app also gives you the chance to correct any errors in the file name. Although EasyWeb has made the page names idiot proof it hasn't done it with the other file names - yet! ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! So, in other words it does NOT work just like iWeb. I understand that images can be cropped in any # of photo editors before being brought into EasyWeb but, that wasn't the question. Also using the magnify slider pixelates the image |

We'll improve this shortly. There is one aspect missing to specify width/height. Quote: Also using the magnify slider pixelates the image iWeb's slider does the same thing by the way. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Quote: Hmmm - I don't get any pixelation. In iWeb or EasyWeb? The magnify slider resizes the image larger. Depending on the quality of the image you may or may not notice any blurring or pixels in either application. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

I never used it in iWeb. When testing it in EasyWeb I don't get any pixelation because I'm using a fairly high resolution image. I don't think you, as the developer, need take responsibility for users abusing a feature when they haven't taken the time to learn the basics of image manipulation! If they want to boost an image beyond its native resolution they should invest a 100 bucks in PhotoZoom. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I understand quite well thank you very much. iWeb didn't require you to use the slider to crop an image. So, you can keep your snide comments to yourself. Thank-you. |
