As I pointed out in THIS Topic, before anybody can help you with SEO, you would need to provide descriptive text. Imagine your website with all the images and slideshows deleted. That's what the search engine spiders are left with. As far as products are concerned, you would be better to have one slideshow per page with captions and alt text plus an h4 heading and descriptive text for each image. There is no SEO magic that can offset the lack of relevant, descriptive text. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Ok Roddy, actually there is descriptive text ( on the home page) underneath the image i know this is not great. This is because i coud not manage with thext widget to obtain the same result ( each line finishing neatly aligned at the end under each other ) and actually the H1 and H2 are also on the page but as i dont want them to be seen they are hidden... |

Hiding text is considered spamming by Google.

SEO encompasses a great many things (even unknown qualities). The very basics would be- A page being created and properly ordered from top to bottom, Descriptive Names for Images, Descriptive Alt Text for Images, and Correctly Tagged text that is relevant throughout the text. If you had an image of a cat and a dog, you could name it catdog.jpg, or you could name it sheapard-puppy-playing-with-orange-tabby-cat.jpg. Alt Text- Think if you could not see but your computer talked to you telling you what is on the screen. Form Alt Text to describe that Image to a blind person, or so that someone knows exactly what the Image is if that Image does not load. Correctly Tagged Text- Think in terms of print. When you open a newspaper or magazine you see- Headline or Heading, under those you see a block of text. Then another Heading, then some more text. Your Headline or Heading would be <h> tag. It should contain Keywords and it should tell the reader what they are about to read about. The text that follows it should contain the same Keywords, plus some more, but be written naturally and be cohesive. Keywords and Keyphrase are inter-changable now, most people search using a phrase, not a word now a days, and search engines know this. If you go to http://www.googlelandusa.com/a-unique-trash-problem.html you will see a page of writing and images. The page is NOT FORMATTED correctly, but the basic structure is correct. You see Headings followed by text, and those relate to each other. You see images that are related to what is being said in the text near it. It is written in a natural style, using keywords and phrases that all relate to each other. If you grab an image off the page and look at the title, you will see it has a title that describes it for what it is. The Alt Text contains a description of the image. If you can get those things done well, he rest is difficult, but falls into place easier |
