HI Paul, Looking forward to an integrated blogging feature. I've been planning an active area of my site to be focused on topical concerns in my field. Is there a sign up for beta releases. I'd like to participate if you are looking for active users to exercise your hard won efforts. best DLD |

This isn't the perfect answer, but for those who really want some way to blog now, take a look here: www.rhsclassof69.com Then click on the top menu for BLOG HOME. This is one workaround that allows you to post some blogs. It does take a bit of work and every new blog means shifting the others down. Not hard to do, just highlight them all and move down. The next thing is you should occasionally move the bottom ones to a separate page so the list isn't too long. Yes, I haven't done that. Yet. What happens in the background is not important. The visitor will see blog entries, they can read them and leave happy. It'll get you through until RAGE gets the blog feature done. As for then combining them into the new blog feature (when it happens), I have no idea. I'll have to see how it works first, but copy and past should probably work. I just wanted to post a quick update to any following this thread. The blogging platform is coming along and we are working on the finishing touches, documentation and bug fixes for the 1.0 version of the blogging platform. I am very happy with how it has turned out, it is very easy to use and allows us to add the features we want to in the future. We will announce more, but I just wanted to post this note for the users following this thread :-) ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Great news Paul! You probably deserve a 6-week vacation after this. If you need an outside beta tester, I'd be glad to volunteer. I've done a lot of that. @Chris: It will work with EverWeb Standalone but as we develop the blog we have features that can only work with the EverWeb + Hosting option in the future. I will post more once we have finalized our timeline and let everyone know about beta testers. Thanks for your understanding guys! We are really existed for version 2.0! ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

"It will work with EverWeb Standalone but as we develop the blog we have features that can only work with the EverWeb + Hosting option in the future." At that folks is a good reason to have EW host your site. They can do things at their back end to support blogs that other hosting sites can not do. I moved to EW hosting over a year ago and have had 100% uptime. The several times I had a question it was answered within minutes and there's a live person to talk to if that's what you want. The price is competitive especially if you group it with the cost of the EW app. Yup, this is a plug. I like the hard work RAGE puts in to EW. ------------------------------- MrCourtney - Honolulu, HI -------------------------------------- Mac Studio - dial monitors; iMac 27 5K - Dual Monitors - 10 TB hub Alienware: Area 51 - 24 gb - Dual Monitors - All SSD 25 TB network storage |

Will the new blogging feature allow blog posts to be done without having the EverWeb app? From the "web" or so? Let's say I design a webpage for a client and the want to be able to post their own blog posts/news? Courtney wrote: "At that folks is a good reason to have EW host your site. If you are designing webpages for others, you can't really ask your client to switch host... |

Damon - Paul said a bit earlier that the blog can be done from any host. *Later* they might add some things that would require EW hosting to use because they need to be implemented in the back end. I suspect that will still allow users to blog from another host but if your want your car washed and a 6-course dinner downloaded to your desk then that part might require their hosting :-) ------------------------------- MrCourtney - Honolulu, HI -------------------------------------- Mac Studio - dial monitors; iMac 27 5K - Dual Monitors - 10 TB hub Alienware: Area 51 - 24 gb - Dual Monitors - All SSD 25 TB network storage |
