EasyWeb Beta 9

User: Paul-RAGESW 10 years ago
New beta posted with lots of improvements;
http://www.ragesw.com/files/easyweb/EasyWebMay14.zip

Please note if you are on a retina mac we have begun implementing better retina support for image assets. Drag two images;
image.png
image@2x.png
and EasyWeb will use the appropriate image for a retina display. It will not yet export them on publish though.

May 14 (1036)
- new image masking feature. Works only for image fill set as stretch. See metrics inspector to adjust masking
- adjusting width/height in inspector respects the constrain proportions CheckBox
- fixed issue with adjusting Paragraph spacing on export
- up/down arrows for page and text properties in inspector
- adding email no longer removes uppercase letters
- delete key now works in add email window
- EasyWeb doesn't replace HTML entities anymore since websites are exported as UTF-8
- when publishing to a local folder the visit site button works if the first web page is a Directory
- fixed a problem with mouse over/mouse down transitions -> no longer tiles background image
- inserting buttons (Insert Menu -> Buttons) now support retina properly
- if the same link and styling were placed next to each other, the second link wouldn't have a class associated with it on export giving it the wrong colors
- new separate field for changing Navigation Menu text instead of using the file name
- file name no longer allows characters other than a-z 0-9 and - and _
- fixed a problem where a page wouldn't save it's updates if you started dragging another page in the web page list
- new icons for widgets
- shapes with fill=none but have a border will be exported properly
- blank images will no longer be exported for all regular shapes resulting in websites that should be 10-40% smaller
- changing a page name within the web page list updates the inspecter properly now
- added a check email online button in publishing settings window
- fixed problem with linking to directories within directories

yeah, my whole website is based on the black template blank page. I tried, in beta 9, to add a white blank page and change the page background and it wouldnt let me change both the browser and page background to black. any ideas on how to make an all black blank page in the new version?

There is a problem with the white theme.

There is a shape on it. Delete the shape and it will work.

ok, yeah it works now, thanks paul.

So that was it. I wondered why the page had a default height of 1000px!

Should I be able to open the "Learn how to use EasyWeb" on the "Welcome to EasyWeb" window? It doesn't open when I click on it. Thanks
User: Roddy 10 years ago
The "learn how to use EasyWeb" hasn't been completed yet!

Ask in this forum if there's anything you aren't clear about.

I recently bought a Mac with retina display. Could you explain to me what you mean by that?

Are you referring to dragging two images into the Assets list!

Retina screens will display images at a far higher resolution than lesser devices. To take advantage of this so that you get to experience this in EasyWeb, you should have two versions of each image.

I take this to mean that if you have an image - "my-photo.png" - with a resolution of 640px x 480px, you should create another one with a resolution of 1280px x 960px and name it - "my-photo@2.png". Then drag this image into Assets/Images.

Hi Roddy,

Not sure if it was a typo or not but it should be my-photo@2x.png

You need the x in there after the 2.

My bad - it was a typo.

I must have been too intent on trying to figure out the image file format that you had used in the original post "image.ong".
