| Am trying to crop some photos placed on a page, and seem to be getting no response from the masking tool. Could you give me the proper sequence of steps to get it to work? Thanks. | |

You did not say what steps you are using, that would help a lot. I never used mask until I saw this question. I opened EW and did it the simplest way, which is not the 'correct' way to put an image on a page, but this is what I did and it worked. I created a new page, opened Assets list, grabbed an image and dragged it onto the page. I selected the image (so there are the boxes around it), went to Format at top and clicked Mask. What I got was my image with a dotted line box in the middle, the area around dotted lines in image was darker (shaded). I put the cursor on one of the blocks on the dotted lines and clicked and dragged it out a little, then did it with more of the dotted lines. I then clicked a blank part of the page and all that my image showed was what was inside the dotted line. I then published the page and it published the way I had masked it. I did a few, masking different areas. I also marked an image to show where the double arrow will appear if you move the cursor over the dotted lines. You can see them here. Last edit 11 years ago |

Set your image file option (under the Shape Settings tab in the Inspector) to Stretch. Only images set to this setting can be masked. If the image is distorted, you can then press the 'Set Original Size' button in the same location as above. Then you can resize your image to the size you want before masking. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |
