Viewing character spacing

Testing a demo version I found out that there is no spacing of characters, which to squeze or expand a line you have to change the size of character. Is that so, or am I missing something? LV |

CSS has a letter spacing selector but its use is restricted to special effects due to the fact that deviating from the font designers spacing causes reading difficulties. See this page about Readability for more info. Some of the widgets in the Text pack have a control for adjusting letter spacing such as the one for using fonts in the Script group.
