favicon help

User: Donald C. 11 years ago
Hello, I've got my new website up and running and am thrilled about it. One more thing and I'm pretty much done. I'd like to include a favicon. I've tried many suggestions from the forum, but nothing seems to work. I have put my favicon in the external files and named it favicon.ico. It was put their on it's own. That seems to be the correct place for it. I then put this code in the Head/Footer code box:
<LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="{!-ASSETSPATH-!}External%20Files/favicon.ico" />
The above was after I copied relative path of favicon.ico and then pasted into the above. Nothing has happened. I've cleared my history and tried several browsers. Any suggestions. All help is appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Hi Donald,

In the beta version of EverWeb 1.8, it includes an option to include a favicon (in the Site Settings). DON'T use any beta software for real sites, create test sites if you are eager to try out the new features. Paul has said that they expect 1.8 to be available (not beta) very soon (a week or so).

For the time being, I use this code:
<link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/ico" href="relativepathoffavicon">
