Missing project

User: Louis L. 11 years ago
I barely begin my site on EverWeb and changed My Website to Envirosnowmelt
I changed the default to Envirosnowmelt.
I see that name in the Recent Projects list
I also started a New Page by choosing blank.
I named it HOME
And file name, index.html

The questions or issues:
It would not show the name with the . between index and html but rather indexhtml
When I closed EverWeb and reopened it, I clicked Envirosnowmelt, but it did not show the Home/index.html page under the name Envirosnowmelt on the left
So where is it.

I have an EverWeb folder under Apps and created an Envirosnowmelt folder which shows to the right. That's where I thought I could save my site work.
I didn't have an option where to save the project.
Please advise where it is then and how to save it where I can find it.
Thanks

You don't need to name the file index.html. EverWeb will properly name it index.html. The file name field will be converted to a web safe name for you that is ending with .html so you never need to include .html. This is why EverWeb removes it.

There isa bug in 1.7.5 which is fixed in 1.8 that if you name a sub page the same as it's parent folder, it may disappear. There was only one way to name a file the same as it's parent and that was with the Inspector. It wouldn't work within the Web Page List. This is all fixed for 1.8.

To get the page back it is kind of complicated. You need to look in the File Package for the Project file and go to Web Page Files and then drag and drop the .xml file for that page onto your web page list. Make sure though that you rename the page so that it is different from any directory names.

You can find any project by clicking the little arrows next to the project in the Projects window and selecting 'Show On Disk'
