When you update your software, it would be great if you would list ALL changes, not just the ones you want to list. In addition to that, when you are releasing a new build, it would be helpful if you didn't switch over on your end until it has been released to us. |

We do list all changes. Which change are you referring to? It may be that we missed one... I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. Can you clarify please? ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

Tuesday, December 23 EW changed. EW then upgraded December 25. On the 23rd I experienced Home button not being able to find the Home page, Mobile site cannot be found, I let EW 'handle' my images and they will not load, almost all my widgets reset to default. Now, since I have done the exact same thing for months and it all worked, but stopped working on Dec 23; that tells me that you launched 1.7 server side days before the update went live. Since you have already lied to me about the Home button issue (insisting it has always been this way, when in fact EW used to do this function), I do not expect a resolution except more blathering. So, once again- If you are going to make fundamental changes to a program, list ALL the changes. I also saw recently that you 'suggested' that someone make their mobile site a directory. Is it really a suggestion? Or is it the way it needs to be done now? Last edit 11 years ago |

Hi Jim, I understand you are frustrated, especially when it seems that things just stop working, but your accusations are not true. There is no reason for us to lie and you are finding issues and creating conclusions which are not correct. We are happy to help resolve your issues as quickly and easily as we can but please don't post accusations like this because it misleads other users. We DO NOT make server side changes to EverWeb when we release an update. There were no changes to the way the home page works, it has been the same since version 1. If your images and mobile pages are having problems, just let us know and we'll help you fix it. Most likely you just need to do a entire site publish. If that doesn't work please provide your website url so I can get a better idea of the problem. If the issues you describe are related to the beta not publishing Retina images, yes that is a bug but that is why we have a beta version, so that users can test new features before we release. If you don't want to have problems, avoid the betas but never use a beta version on a live websites. I did not recommend to someone to make their mobile page a directory. Please show me the link to where you read that so I can clarify for you. Again, I do understand it can be frustrating when things go wrong. But please do not accuse us of misleading or lying because we certainly are not doing that. That would not make sense. Yes some versions will have bugs, that's the nature of software. We cannot test EverWeb on every possible system configuration. All we can do is promise to help as best we can when issues arise. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

I have never used a beta version here. In a different thread you told me that my Home page needs to be named Index instead and has always been this way. I guess you should change the video transcript where it says this: "Some users might name the file name after what the page is about, for example, Home, About Us, Contact Us, Services, Products, etc. You will notice that as you change the file name here, the changes will also appear in the page list." To reflect the way it has been. I'll deal with the problems myself. I am NEVER wrong about this type of thing. Adding two plus two is not difficult. |

Quote: In a different thread you told me that my Home page needs to be named Index instead and has always been this way. No I never said that. Your home page does NOT need to be named index in EverWeb. EverWeb names it index.html when you publish. You can name it whatever you want in EverWeb. There was NO change whatsoever in this behavior in any version of EverWeb. Roddy's response in that thread even specifies this for you when you asked "So, is naming my homepage 'index' what we have to do now?"; "EverWeb changes the file name of the first page at the to of list in the left column to index.html no matter what we name it." Source To clarify, you can name your home page whatever you want. When you link to it, you just don't include the file name as your web browser will forward you to that default page when no file name is specified. EverWeb takes care of all of this for you when linking through the hyperlink tab, you don't even have to think about it. If you want to use a widget that asks for a link to your home page, just leave the file name off of the link. For example, use; http://domain.com Instead of http://domain.com/file-name.html (or http://domain.com/index.html) Again, there has been NO change to the way this works in EverWeb since the very first version.
