Sure. If you click on it, you get a menu of sorts that contains the Default Styles for what color links are, font size, font family, etc. When it opens you can just click on any line to change what the Default is, then Save.

The default styles have been somewhat reduced in V 1.7beta.

Default styles are those that are written in the main stylesheet for a website and apply to all the elements that don't have a class name added to them.

In the main, websites should use the same font family throughout. The various HTML headings use a uniform size and the paragraph font size remains the same. These styles can be written just once in the stylesheet and make for far more efficient web pages.

If you look at the text styles.css for your website once you have created a number of pages you will see how many different classes are created. Being able to choose default styles for the whole site will reduce this and allow us to create HTML headings and paragraphs without having to set up the styles every time.

Alright, Thanks to Jim and Roddy for the explanations. Excuse me for lack of web coding knowledge, I now understand that if I change Link colour, Link Mouse Over settings, it will appear default style that I set up when I create a new link.

But how H1, H2 etc. works? Let's say I change H1 font to Arial, H1 font size to 31, it doesn't seem to change anything if I create a text box. Could you explain how this works? I was trying to make this work for blogs, defining default style for articles would save me a lot of time!! Thanks!!

The Default Styles for text are listed as Body, not h1, h2. I had never messed with it until this thread. I found that after setting them I needed to quit EW and when I opened it the styles were set with new settings, ie: font size bigger.

H1, H2, etc are put in using either html code, or I use one of Roddy's widgets at everwebcodebox.com. He also has a site everwebcodebox.com that is great for taking your first steps to learning what code is and how it works, and teaches simply how to use code. I found it a great resource for my first steps into code.
