Use Group in the Arrange menu or the shortcut option + command + g

That will indeed group the items but there is an oddity about this. Once you've grouped items they no longer show any " handles" and are unchangeable . Trying to resize a group is impossible. |

| I suppose one could ungroup - change - and regroup, but its a bit inconvenient. | |
