Hi there, I´m looking for a text slider. Is there a Everweb widget (I have not yet found) or any idea for a solution? Thanks a lot Thomas |

Most sliders consist of a number of <img> tags or an unordered list of links. Some sliders use divs and therefore can display any content. There is no widget for this since the content of each slide has to be inserted using HTML. I have started a new section on advanced widgets which will insert all the scripts, images etc and then the user can insert the HTML in a code box to create projects that are more advanced than the EverWeb widget api allows at this time. So far there is only one widget but the instructions for it will give you an idea of what is involved. If you want to create your own slider, Cycle2 has a version which uses divs and can have any content. The first example on this page will show you how it's done… http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle2/demo/non-image.php You would of course need to create some styles for the HTML heading(s), paragraph and any other content. To get help with this you would need to be more specific about the content type. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Hi Roddy, thanks for the hint to Cycle2. Unfortunately I´m not very familiar with html etc. I want to place a text box (for news) as a manual slider on the right side of our website. Heading is "News". In the box should appear one short message and arrows for klicking right to the next short message and for backwards. To realize this idea, I could change the text messages to images and use one of the slider widget. But it seems to me, that the typeface is not identical to the "normal" text. Thomas |

Converting text to image should be avoided - particularly with news which you would want the search engines to index. When I get some time I'll see if I can create a widget for it. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Here's a widget for creating a Text Slider… http://everwebcodebox.com/html5/advanced/text-slider.html The heading and text need to be inserted as HTML but it is not rocket science. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Not in its present form but it could be adapted for this. However, it really isn't a good idea to put more than one per page.
