The next Alpha version of EasyWeb is available here;

http://ragesw.com/files/easyweb/EasyWebfeb26.zip

This version fixes the following;

FEBRUARY 26 (1008)
- undoing textcontrol changes will make the height of the control smaller when necessary
- undoing now changes properties in Inspector for page
- updating page name in Inspector updates the website list
- undoing page name updates the website list
- when rotating/resizing object with gestures, inspector is updated properly
- resizing objects updates inspector properly
- undo improvements to the textcontrol -> if you are not editing a textcontrol, change a property and undo it will not select the text and require a second undo, if you are editing the text and undo it won't unselect the text control
- can now adjust x/y/height/width of navbars, widgets from the inspector without getting a crash
- updating the inspector window when there is no selection won't cause the canvas to erase everything until you switch pages anymore
- updating backgroundfill colors, text alignments or text color won't apply all those settings to all selected shapes when you just adjust one of the listed settings
- backgroundfill, text alignments and textcolor work much better with undo when multiple shapes are selected
- undo works better now for text spacing
- can now input text into html widget and google maps widgets
- fixed publishing crash
- fixed drawing of certain widgets on non retina mac
- all shapes draw stroke correctly now when rotating

For text control I use character spacing I would really like to see this option. It would also be nice to have a little more control over the menu. Styling - Spacing - Placement

Hi,

Unfortunately character spacing is difficult to add so it won't be there in the initial release but it is something we would like to add.

As for having more control over the menu can you be more specific about what you are looking for?

Color for starters for the menu's similar to iWeb's link inspector.

Borders on shapes are also not appearing on publish.

Nav bar also does not take you to pages when published (not sure if this is because it is set up for your new hosting service)

Here is the border I am talking about:

Dropdown Navigation must still be under development. I didn't see an option for it anywhere.

Image wells would be a nice feature as well

Hi Jeff,

1) You can adjust colors already for hyperlinks under the "hyperlinks" tab. These are not yet applied to the navbars but will be.

2) Borders for shapes are not yet exported, we are still working on a few exporting issues

3) There were a few changes for the navbar links so these may be broken in the current alpha version. This was changed to support publishing to the server (which you cannot do with the current version)

We are working on navbars now so the next alpha will have a lot of improvements for them.

To make a dropdown navigation click the "Add Container Page" option then add pages to that container page.

Can you clarify what you mean by ImageWells?

Here is a visual (how-to I did for iWeb)

Ok I see what you mean. My thoughts on how iWeb works when you drag an image onto it to create the "Image Well" is a little confusing.

I think a better option is when a picture is dragged into EasyWeb do the following:

1) set the Shape Inspector -> Fill option to Image
2) Set the Image Fill option to "Stretch"
3) Set the Inspector Position Option "Constrain Proportions" to ON
4) Have a button to set as original size in the Shape Inspector -> Fill option when Stretch is selected
5) Allow any object set to Fill Option Image to accept image drops (they will highlight as you drag over)

The above I think is more intuitive than the way iWeb did it. You have more flexibility when working with dropped images and it produces the exact same results.

The current alpha release does not have the image masking feature you show in the video. It's something I really want to add but may not get to for the initial release.

Other than that, I think everything you showed in the video is doable right now in EasyWeb. Have you had anything else you had trouble with?

[quote="admin":3t47l4uc]To make a dropdown navigation click the "Add Container Page" option then add pages to that container page.

That worked though not showing the drop down. I was assuming a "Container Page" was similar to an iFrame which may be worth looking into for a round two or three the ability to embed a page within a page would be very usefull

The image well is just convenient especially for templates to just drag in an image keep the layout the same ... not have to resize anything

Yup, what I described would work exactly like that but I believe will add a little more flexibility and reduce some of the confusion.

An iframe widget would be VERY easy to add so that is something we can do.

Any way to add descriptions or titles to photo's in the image gallery.

Also ALT Text for other images around the site would be nice

( I just noticed the Navigation widget having the Navigation stuck in the head was annoying me )
