Would it be possible to preview just a single page? Current it would appear that the entire site gets published locally before it can be previewed. When working on a page with lots of snippets, it would be helpful/far quicker if you could just preview the page you were working on. I'm sure that other things would need to get published like the site wide head and foot code and perhaps the directories but it seems to be taking forever to preview just one page I want to see. |

Only changed pages get published when previewing. Are you using the latest version? This was change in 1.6.

Thanks Paul - That solves the problem. I rarely use Preview but as I am changing EVERY page on my site and some changes effect other pages, that is why it took so long. Just tried again and sure enough it was very quick. Thanks |

| Paul, what is the point of publishing all page changes in preview if I can only preview 1 page? When I preview, nothin on the page works, so I don't see a point in doing every page. | |

Can you explain what you mean by "nothing on the page works"? I have never had any use for the Preview function since I publish to a local folder. That way, I can have the page I am working on open in both a desktop browser and the iPad simulator and quickly check each version. I also need to be able to open an HTML doc in a code editor to check for errors. This is why I don't use V1.7 because jQuery is now broken in the local version due to the way in which the link has been adapted for SSL. With 1.7, I have to open the page in the editor and fix the link every time I make a change. Since the traditional version of any website is going to be viewed by a large, and growing, percentage of tablet users, this method of testing is pretty much essential. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Sure. First, I only use the latest full release build, never any Beta releases. When I click on Preview and choose my browser, it proceeds to load/process every page. When the browser opens with the page I was on, none of the links work and I can only view that one page. I also do not use slideshows or any other moving parts. I only use the preview function to see differences between browsers, since that is the only function for it that I can find. Although, I just tried again with a test site that is published and links work in Preview, when they did not work in Preview before publishing. |
