Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask this. I have recently moved my iWeb site to Rage and am in the process of rebuilding it in Everweb. I was advised that I needed to set up my email forwarders within Rage before going ahead with the move, so I did this and I can see them all in Services/My Services/View Details/Manage Account/Email Forwarders. This morning I've received 2 dodgy (spam, phishing?) emails to 2 of my forwarder addresses, so started investigating why this might be - and have discovered that I can still log into the cPanel that I used formerly with the login details provided by my previous host. My old forwarders are still accessible and still work - I know this because a test email which I sent to an address that I didn't set up in Rage has arrived. So I set up a new forwarder in Rage and a test email sent to this has been returned. So now I'm wondering if I need to wait 'til I publish my site in Everweb before the Rage forwarders become active...? Hoping someone will be able to sort out this confusion for me, or tell me that there's somewhere else that deals with this sort of thing. With thanks. Last edit 11 years ago |

| You don't need to have your website published in order for your emails to be working. Your DNS would need to be updated to the DNS we provided to you in order for any emails being sent/received to be going through our servers. | |

Could have sworn I replied but if I did, where's my reply gone? I found my welcome email - had misunderstood about name servers - thought I read that I could either change them, or get my previous host to transfer the whole site - which is what I did. But name servers for email are separate...? Whatever. I've been right through my cPanel and my client area (different login details for each) and can find no DNS field so please, yes, as offered in welcome email, can you do this for me? Which login details do you want and where do I send them? Cheers Last edit 11 years ago |

Name servers for emails are not separate. A web host will host both your website and your emails. The DNS is how we can communicate with the domain to let it know what server to associate itself with. If you require any assistance with setting everything up, please email our customer support department as this is not something we'll be able to do through the public forum. |
