Viewing Add Directory to Assets

Add Directory to Assets

User: Roddy 13 years ago
This is new to me...

It would be really useful to be able to add directories for projects like slideshows where there could be a large number of images which are better organised by placing them in folders for main, thumb full screen and mobile.

Yes, we have been thinking about a feature like this.

It definitely won't come in the first release though but would certainly help with organization.

I'll second this request. I make lecture slides in Keynote, and use its HTML export feature, which generates an assets folder with a player that handles all the nice transitions and animations. It also generates an index.html file in the same directory containing the folder.

In iWeb, I would put an image of a slide into a page, then link it to the index.html. After the site was published, I would hunt through it to find the directory containing that file, and upload the folder beside it. Users could then click on the image, and the code in the index.html file would launch the player. I assume that's currently what I'd have to do in EasyWeb too.

The small problem is that for a short time between publishing and uploading the folder, if someone follows that link they get an error. It would be great if I could drag the folder into the assets associated with the page, and have it get uploaded with the rest of the site changes. In this case, I don't need EasyWeb to be able to look into the folder. I just want to put it into the assets as a private object, so that HTML in another asset can access it directly without having to include a full path name.
