Viewing Centering

Centering

User: Guest 10 years ago
Am I overlooking some obvious way to know I've centered something on the page? It would be great to have a centering guide. I get the little top and bottom lines, but often I need to align two boxes or photos that aren't exactly the same size, so a center alignment line would be helpful.

Hi Cristina,

You can enable that from the Preferences under the EasyWeb menu.

Objects can also be centered on the page using the Arrange menu..

Sooo not working! When I click on a shape, then hold down the shift key to click on another box, then go to align center, they fly to the left.

Hi Cristina,

The center alignment feature center aligns the objects within the total width of all selected objects. It doesn't center the objects to the page. This is consistent with how iWeb works.

Sorry for the confusion. Did you try the center alignment guides in the preferences?

I am probably creating confusion here by not explaining the way in which I use "Align Objects" as a result of what I learned in an earlier topic about this.

Now that we have a center guide that can be turned on in preferences, this works for me. Since I usually start from a completely blank page I use Arrange/Align Objects/Center to center align the first object - like the website name. After that, I use the center alignment guide for subsequent objects.

Arrange/Align Objects/Center will center align any single object on the page.
