NOTE: This is a beta version and has not been fully tested. Please create new threads for any issues that arise. EverWeb 1.7 brings a new Yosemite UI with new icons and interface enhancements. It also introduces a new remote template system. Templates can be updated from under the 'EverWeb' menu. The EverWeb download is now only about 30MB and the templates are stored in a global system folder so you don't need to re-download them each time you download EverWeb. Download EverWeb 1.7 Beta CHANGES - New Yosemite UI - New template system lets you remotely update templates - Support for img alternative text for better search engine optimization - Images now use the img tag when possible - All images can now properly appear in search engine result pages - New Header Text Widget for inserting html headers - Widgets can now have video/help text - Widgets are automatically added to widget list in all opened documents when installing a new one - Enhancements to the Widget API - EverWeb websites work better with HTTPS servers now - Google fonts will now work on secure (https) webistes - Fixed an issue where using line feeds in success message for the contact form would break it - Fixed Youtube widget in IE 9 - New Mask button in toolbar - Fixed blue border around images in published image gallery in Internet Explorer - New Pages now get added after the currently selected page - Images dragged from iPhoto will use the iPhoto title instead of the file name - Default styling settings for underlined links will now work properly - 'Edit Default Styles' button from under the Hyperlinks tab in the Inspector - You can now drag and drop images onto existing image shapes and replace the shape contents with the new image while keeping the shape properties/settings - Fixes for RSS Feed Widget so it now displays the proper image when publishing Last edit 9 years ago ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

A new beta version of EverWeb is now available. EverWeb Beta Download CHANGES - Support for direct previewing in the iOS Simulator (selecting 'iPhone 6 Plus' will not yet work) - RSS Widget will now looks for an image within the post content if no image is specified as the post thumbnail - Icons turn red again for modified pages - Clicking the Dock icon no longer creates a new website - Fixed issue with scrollbars cutting off controls in Widget Settings - Widget list doesn't get cut off by the scrollbar - New "Made With EverWeb" button graphic - When adding images, EverWeb is better at recognizing images that are only slightly different than existing images on your site ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

A new beta version of EverWeb is available (beta 1.7b15) It includes a fix for the image quality issue. Retina images now work properly again in version 1.7. Please note there has been significant changes to how retina images are handles internally. Previously you had to make sure the file names were the same for your retina and non-retina versions before importing your images. Now you can change the file name in the assets list. If you experience any problems, please create a new thread about this. We suggest, as always, to work on a backup of your website with beta versions. If you don't know how to back up your website, please do not use beta versions. CHANGES - Made significant changes to the way assets work. You can now easily change the display name of assets after import to create retina versions (i.e. adding @2x before the file extension) - Retina images should work again - Option to adjust the quality of JPEG images within the preferences - Previewing on iPhone 6 Plus will work now - Type ahead searching within the Assets list - Pinterest pin it button widget - Updated User Manual with new screenshots ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

A new version of EverWeb 1.7 beta is now available (beta 16). Please download from the original posting in this thread at the top of this page. CHANGES - Image file names no longer append the order index to their file name unless you have used an image multiple times on one page. If you noticed your image file names looked like this imagefile-22.jpg, that doesn't mean the image was duplicated 22 times, just that the image order index is 22 (adjusted by the Arrange menu). It is recommended to Publish Your Entire site from the File menu to clean out all older image files - Include in navigation bar option in Templates window is not visible when creating a Master Page - Preferences option to not include the Color Profile in JPEG images so that the image size is smaller (though the colors may look slightly different within your browser) Last edit 9 years ago ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

EverWeb 1.7 Final Candidate is now available to download from the first post in this thread. Final Candidate means that if there aren't any significant issues, this is the version that will be released. | Hi Peter! In EW 1.7 you can preview your mobile websites using the iOS Simulator. The simulator comes with Xcode which is free from Apple. You need Xcode to access the simulator which is built in to it. The simulator lets you preview your website with different iPhone and iPad models... If you have installed Xcode you can see the simulator listed in the preview button in the toolbar at the bottom of EW. Hope that helps | |
