Adding email accounts

User: Guest 10 years ago
I'm trying to add my email accounts but when I move to the password box, I lose the first letter of the email account. Is this for security or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

I was trying to add them through Site Publishing Settings instead of the Control Panel. Now if I could just get them to work!

There is a good tutorial video that helped me through the email process. I cant seem to locate it but I am sure Paul know the one to which I am referring. Emails were a hard one for me to, but they finally work.

You should be adding them through the Site Publishing settings in EasyWeb. If you are having problems like you describe it is a bug and we NEED to fix it. Please let me know exactly what you see and what the issue is.

Screenshots will help.

You can take a screenshot by holding down the COMMAND and SHIFT keys on your keyboard and then pressing the number 3. An image file will appear on your desktop, please send that to me. If your email client asks, select the option to send the full size, or original image file.

Thanks, JDM. I think I found the tutorial. I've just changed some things but it's still not working. Oh, oh, oh! Maybe it's not working because I haven't published the website yet? Could that be the problem?

I can't reproduce this issue. Can you send a screen recording of what you are doing?

You can record your screen using Quicktime which is in your Applications folder. Open Quicktime and select 'New Screen Recording' from the File menu.

Once you are done, your recording will be on your desktop. Please send that .mov file to me.

When I finally figured out the mail thing it took a couple minutes for mail to start flowing. One thing that I noticed is that once you have the mail thing open to change the FTTP server or whatever, be sure to have the correct email address selected in the upper box (My iMac kept changing it on me). I'm sure that what I said is not helpful as I don't know the technical language.LOL. Sorry.

Thanks, JDM. I don't know the technical terms, either. I appreciate the heads up and will be on the lookout! :)
