More Control

I'm seeing more and more cases of EverWeb users running into trouble when they try to incorporate features in their websites which use jQuery plugins.
Many of these - which are still viable - require the use of, or the instructions call for, older versions of jQuery.

The fact that EverWeb provides the link to jQuery v1.9.1 on every page is causing problems - unnecessarily. Could we at least have the option to exclude this via a checkbox in the Page inspector if not a means of preventing it in the Site Publishing Settings page.

If not, users need to be made aware that they should not insert another version of jQuery via the code boxes.

I can't be the only person on the planet that doesn't care about supporting ancient versions of Internet Explorer and wants to use the latest version of jQuery, HTML5 elements and the full power of CSS3 - can I?

No you aren't the only one, but IE is still the most used browser worldwide. That might not be for web searches but a lot want IE to access their website without problems. Depending what my website was doing would guide me to more IE friendly or not.
For instance; HerbalLife is one of the largest companies globally. If I were selling it, I would optimize my website for old IE since that is where a lot of my sales would be coming from.

Internet Explorer V8 is now 5 years old. That's equivalent to about 5 centuries in the world of web design and the internet.

According to these stats….

http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

IE has less than 10% usage and that includes all versions. I read somewhere recently that IE 8 and below is now less then 1%.

Internet Explorer is beginning to become all right with V 11 but it's way too late. Microsoft were forced to make it compliant when Google Chrome blew them away. Since Chrome's inception, Firefox and others have held steady and IE usage has declined in proportion to Chrome's rise. IE is now almost as little used as Safari.
