Viewing Image Quality

Image Quality

User: Roddy 9 years ago
I just had an email from an iWeb user who has a site which reviews photography equipment and wanted to know if either EverWeb was going to implement srcset or if I could include it in a widget.

I don't intend to use srcset until browsers allow user preference to decide what quality of image to download and EW would need to implement the <img> tag to allow its use.

At the moment, he uses a popup window to display hi res images by restricting their width. This is not possible with a lightbox widget since an oversize image is normally just contained by the visitors browser width.

This is a demo of a proposed solution which uses a modal window which can be sized to suit the amount of "compression" required…

I have been searching for a modal widget solution to include with the new HTML5 widgets but have been defeated by EW's method of inserting items in a relatively positioned div. This one seems to do the trick.
