Viewing Inspector

Inspector

I would like to just mention once again that it would be very helpful to have a floating Inspector. I know some people don't like it BUT. Sometimes I need to work on a 13" screen when I travel and hiding Inspector every few seconds becomes a very tiresome task. Please consider...:)

We are, and are working towards adding the ability to have a floating Inspector

Before I got my iMac shipped to me here in Scotland I was using a Macbook Pro Retina. When using apps like iWeb and Keynote these floating windows drove me insane. I kept having to drag them out of the way or quitting and relaunching them.

As soon as the show/hide Inspector was introduced in EasyWeb life became tolerable again. In a short space of time it became second nature to do Option-Command-I. This way is much faster and more convenient than dragging the panels about or quitting and relaunching them.

Try it out and see how it goes!

If floating inspector windows are introduced in EW I hope they will be a preference rather than the only way to go. Just because Apple does things a certain way doesn't mean that its the best way. When you send in a feature request to Apple, 999999 times out of 1M, it gets ignored.

Roddy, I understand your frustration and I do hope that floating window will be a preference - not a must... But for me turning it on/off all the time and never being able to see a full window on a 13" MacBook is a pain...:)

Our plan is to have it be an option.

Yelena, I had the same problem as Roddy when using iWeb but I do understand that need to have either option. We will put it in, for now as Roddy suggested, try the keyboard command (command-shift-I) to show/hide the inspector quickly.

I do that - it's great - but tiresome on a small screen....:) Anyway, as I said it is not an imperative but nice to have an option in the future....
