Drop Down Menus Gets Covered by YouTube Player in Windows Explorer

I noted on my website and on your EverWeb website that the drop down menus get covered by YouTube players, but only in Internet Explorer. Please address this issue because the majority of the internet community use this browser. Thank you.

This has been reported before. It is not an EverWeb problem. This happens in Internet Explorer with CSS drop down menus and YouTube movies.
Microsoft should fix this but, of course, they won't.
YouTube could also apply the fix but they are probably waiting for MS to do it.

It's up to the individual web designer to fix it. The obvious and easy way is to move the YouTube movie down the page clear of the drop down.

Another way is to modify the URL in the YouTube iframe code from this…

src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XGSy3_Czz8k?"

… to this …

src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XGSy3_Czz8k?wmode=transparent"

Email me and we will see if we can resolve it.

I have modified a widget to add the code and a couple of other options. Contact me if you want to try it.

Adding ?wmode=transparent to the YouTube URL worked fine for me. Thank you!
