Hi, I just noticed that on my iPad with iOS8 the sites created with EverWeb do not align center anymore. They did on iOs 7.x but even though the site has not changed, it doesn't center anymore. Has something changed in Safari or are we missing a setting here ? |

Show the layout in EverWeb and look for an item(s) that is extending out of the content area into the browser background on the right hand side. This will push the whole layout to the left on a tablet which has no browser background.

Hi Paul and `roddy. I took Roddy's advice and checked the formatting and layout. Everything is within the boundaries of the layout. Nothing spills over. Still....the problem remains... It could very well be a bug in Ios8's Safari of some sort....that's unclear. Perhaps others reading this can check and report on this ? Peter |

This looks like overflow to me…![]() These buttons cause a lot of problems and use a huge amount of code for little - if any - gain. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! @Peter If you're in (the webdesign business), you may as well get aquinted with the technology behind a webpage. Making collages is not enough. This page you designed has the same problem (scroll down and do Command-A) : http://www.rimblades.nl/ And this page does not exist : http://www.cslogistics.nl/ Should be : http://www.cslogisticsbv.nl/ The problems occur because the container div has no overflow: hidden attribute. So everything that sticks out the content area, makes the page wider. Some times it is benificial, most times it's not. The same with the HTML snippet. Doesn't matter how large or small the Snippet is on the page. Last edit 11 years ago |

In the Inspector > first tab: Page Settings > Is your Page Layout > Centered Layout? See screen dump below: |

Using the centered layout doesn't make any difference. Unlike computer browsers, mobile ones show the content width at the full width of the screen. Any item extending beyond the content area increases the viewport width so the content is pushed to one side or another to accommodate this. A lot of mobile specific website designs are in fact left aligned by default which works fine on mobile devices. Fully responsive designs require the content to be centered to allow them to appear "normal" on computers. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! I'm glad I found this post. I've just created my first mobile redirect page and it's also not centre-aligning on my iPhone 5. Looks fine in EverWeb and nothing is spilling out.

Did you include any social media buttons on the page? If so, did you look at the topic that Jumbo T. referred to above… http://billing.ragesw.com/forum.php?act=thread&tid=2170&p=1#post5 ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! Yeah, no social media buttons of any kind. I'm just testing this out so have kept it easy with a graphic, a shape, and text.
