Can the slideshow carousel be removed?

User: Sarina B. 9 years ago
My question is about EverWeb photo gallery pages:
After the thumbnail is clicked and the large version of the image opens, the carousel overlays the bottom of my photo, obscuring that part of it. This is distracting and unappealing visually. I want to remove the carousel so there isn’t anything obscuring the bottom of the photo. Is there a way to remove the carousel, yet still allow the viewer to click images manually using inconspicuous directional arrows for a slideshow? I'm hoping there is a code I can insert

(or, if I can't remove the carousel entirely, can it be adjusted so it appears under the photos and not on top of them?)

If you use the slideshow widget rather than the gallery one you can remove the thumbnail carousel.

There are quite few other sliders and carousels…

… which may be more suitable and faster loading.

With the T Slide you can put the thumbnail carousel any where…

Hi Roddy,
I've spent the entire morning pouring over your EverWebCodeBox website. Thank you for such an amazingly comprehensive website. The information it contains, and your widgets, will be extremely helpful since I'm not very code savvy and only know some rudimentary HTML. I purchased your widget that includes the Light Box Gallery and I'm experimenting with it right now. It's a huge improvement over what EverWeb came with. I love your clean simple image presentation without a carousel and superfluous buttons/arrows overlaying my photos. I also love that the background becomes opaque while in slideshow mode – it was too light before and the background text was showing through so much that it was difficult to read my captions. Your widget solved 2 issues I was about to abandon EverWeb over – Thank you very much

Just one question regarding the light box gallery widget; I laid out my thumbnails in a grid and attached the corresponding large images. My manual slideshow worked perfectly until I rearranged the order of my thumbnails – the large images don’t follow the new arrangement and retain the old arrangement. Is there a way to make the large images follow their thumbnails if the thumbnails are rearranged on the page? Or do the large images always retain the original order that the thumbnails were laid out in?

Thanks again,
Sarina

I don't understand what you mean. The lightbox gallery widget is designed to launch a whole slideshow from a single thumbnail image.

This allows you to have several slideshows on one page of the site - each launched from a different thumbnail. I never really saw the point in having a whole bunch of thumbnails in a grid just for one slideshow.

Can you contact me and perhaps send the URL to the published page to help me understand the issue?
