FTP Publishing 1.6 Beta 4 Build 1275

Hi there!

Finally you could fix one of my biggest issues! Now, after restarting EW, the publishing settings are still on ftp and not switched back to folder, and finally now EW just publishes NEARLY just the changes.

BUT still EW publishes ALL *.htm files and all directories (until it figures, they already exist) , even if they haven't been changed. If that could be fixed, the publishing would only take me a few seconds with a minor change instead of minutes...

Thanks!

As noted with version 1.6, your entire site will be published the first time you go to Publish your site. From then on, only changed files will be published.

If you are referring to something else, please let me know.

Hey,

no - that's not the "problem". Yes - the first time with 1.6 EW uploaded my whole site once more ( ca. 100 MBs ). And now, when I change just one word on one page, EW uploads all *.htm files. Just these files, no images no other stuff. Just the *.htm or *.html files. Plus it tries to upload all directories and when EW sees, that they already exist, it skips to the next directory... So now, my upload is for a single word change ca. 10 MBs...

Yes; I have the same problem...Publishing still needs work! A lot! iWeb used to see the files that needed uploading and di djust that in a very short time. EW scans the entire site while trying to upload and takes forever and usually does not make it to the end, just stops, times out or freezes or whatever you want to call it. I cant work on my site now for fear o fthe publishing nightmare - to server or to folder its all bad and takes half a day!
