Can anyone compare Network Solutions website building tools to EverWeb ?

I have never used it. Don't have hosting there. I know that if one uses the NS we builder, the site cannot be relocated to another web host.

Any comparisons available ?

Yes, I can compare and contrast chalk to cheese. Anything can be compared to anything.

It's kind of pointless comparing two things which are completely different. First, you need to make the choice of whether to use a web design app or an online website builder to create your site(s).

Then you can compare cheese with cheese.

Disagree. Okay, will play it your way. What are the differences and similarities between a web design app and an online app ?

Sorry, not sure how to make it into a working link.

You make it a link by highlighting it, click the URL button and then paste the link into the box that pops up.

That is a good comparison and anyone reading it will realize why they shouldn't create their site online rather than on their own computer.

Look at the buttons above the textfield.

URL button : http://www.thesitewizard.com/webdesign/online-site-builders-vs-web-editors.shtml

I did the URL button but then a second box came up and confused me.

I've had two different online hosts cancel their service. The websites I created with their site builders were lost. All my work was gone and I had to start over. Those of us familiar with iWeb and MobileMe know that web hosting services can easily disappear. At least with iWeb I've been able to host my website with GoDaddy until I have my EverWeb site ready to publish. Switching to EverWeb is time consuming but it is very easy. As I make the switch I'm redesigning my websites to use the drop down menu feature which is something I desperately needed.

My two cents...
Site builders are easy. On the other hand your website is going to look somewhat generic as there's not much you can do with their templates. The system is designed for the 98% of people who just want a voice on the Internet. How many ugly sites have you seen? Not too many people can design something that looks good so templates and site builders are the answer for them.

If you want something unique and with endless possibilities then you need to build your own with a web design program.

I won't get into the excellent points of probably not being able to transfer your site to a different host.
