Google analytics, verification etc.

User: Rob W. 11 years ago
just been through the sitemap automator software and now linked to a bunch of things to do on google.

1. verify website
2. verify domain
3. google analytics

i'm having trouble with these, i've followed the steps pasting the code in the right places for both 1 and 3 and checked they were in the right places by viewing source on my website, when i go back to google to verify it tells me they aren't working/cant find the code.

for 1 the alternative was to paste code as mentioned above but the main method is to upload a HTML file to your website, i'm hosting with everweb so how would i do this?

Has anybody been through and set up these that could help me? or am i wasting my time trying to do these? is there a benefit?

i can explain in more detail the errors i'm getting if anyone can help!

I'm learning as i go with this stuff so i dont have a great deal of knowledge in this area, any help would be much appreciated!

Use this method to verify your website…

https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35659?hl=en

You need to create a Google Webmasters account and use the ADD A SITE button to add the domain name.

Paste the analytics code into the site wide Footer Code box in the EverWeb SIte Publishing Settings page.

Managed to verify it through my domain in the end.

I've been looking into the different things within webmaster and was wondering do i need to or can i even add things like structered data to my site?

How much SEO can you do for an everweb site or what would you recommend doing to get high up in the search results etc?

I've so far used the Sitemap Automator software but had to manually add the different pages on my site as it only showed my domain name, i created webmasters account and verified the domain and linked to google analytics which seems pretty good for showing data.

My website is a music store selling CDs and DVDs (the store side of things is done through another company), i want to optimise it that when someone searches for an artist that we sell or have news about that particular artist google will see that and present us in the search results.

Keywords in text content are the recipe for success. I forgot about the page I did on SEO!

In the music retail business you have thousands of competitors so you need to think about other options for getting visitors to your website and also persuading them to return - again and again.
