Viewing Element Sizing Restrictions

Element Sizing Restrictions

It would be helpful not to restrict shapes, images, etc., to 2000 pixels (in the Metrics window of the Inspector).

If a number has to be specified, make it 10,000 pixels. At the very least 4100 pixels.

Thanks,

The "standard" web page width is 980px and the maximum recommended is 1024px to prevent those with smaller screens having to scroll horizontally.

Dear Roddy,

Thanks for the reply,

My interest is not in filling the page, but the browser window. The 980px default page size is fine.

I have a 2000 pixel image in test site that is not filling the full screen of an iMac. I would like it to span the entire browser horizontally (but not vertically).

Thoughts?

The browser width on a desktop/laptop is controlled by the user.

To allow the 2000px image to fill the screen you would need to place it in the background since the actual page content is fixed by EW.

See these pages…

… for examples of how you fill the browser background with stuff.

Dear Roddy,

Thanks for the links.

The first widget doesn't work for me because it distorts the image with browser resize.

But I do like the Background Slideshow and the Big Video—I will pick those up :)

I'm not quite sure what the second widget does. Is there a demo?

This may be caused by the background image not being a high enough quality. Can you post an example?

The second widget is an autoplay background banner/slider. Stay on the page for more than a few seconds and you will see the background change.
