Viewing Optimizing large Jpegs with Webcrusher

Optimizing large Jpegs with Webcrusher

This post derives from an earlier thread I inadvertently created on NEW FEATURES forum.

What are the mechanical steps for migrating images from an OSX 10.4 iMac to an OSX 10.9 iMac?
I am okay with having to create new text but would prefer as much drag and drop as possible.
Right now the original i-Web 08 is on a very out of date box and I am fairly certain could not be migrated to the new operating system. Is there an interim upgrade I could use to update the 08 files to something the computer running 10.9 could read?

Also Paul, you say the the new Everweb does not yet contain all the WEBCRUSHER features.
What are the differences and how would they be affect user experience? As I indicated before I have very large photographic images that load quickly. I would not want that part to become slower in Everweb than it currently is in my iWeb 08 files that have been optimized through WebCrusher.

Could you (or should you) still run a graphics intensive site through Webcrusher before publishing to Everweb?

1. and 2. You should publish directly with EverWeb. Although it does not yet contain all the WebCrusher features, it will allow some optimizations within the software for your images.

3. Yes, under the Shape Settings tab in the Inspector where it says Fill at the top. Change Normal to Mouse Over or Mouse Down.

4. Not yet, but it is a feature we would like to add.

For updating your site from 10.4 if it is published online you can drag and drop images from the site within your browser to EverWeb.

You should run your images through WebCrusher before adding them to EverWeb. Then you can publish directly from EverWeb. That will provide everything you need.

So would I drag the image from my site to Webcrusher THEN drag it from Webcrusher to Everweb?

If that is the case do I need to get a current license of Webcrusher that will run on OSX 10.9?

Yes that's what you can do.

If you already bought a license for WebCrusher it will work on 10.9. You don't have to purchase again.
