I've found that the contact form can be a bit unreliable too... I thought deleting and reinstalling the widget was the answer. Just yesterday I had a client tell me that they were not getting email, so after a few tries/trouble shooting I decided to use FoxyForm with the html widget, so far so good...

you mean like paying 80 bucks(!) for ew and then use foxyform??

The contact form is not unreliable. To use it you either need to publish to your root directory or publish to a sub directory by putting your subdirectory name in the 'subdirectory' field in the Publishing Settings Screen. To access the Publishing Settings Screen select your website on the left hand side of the EverWeb window above your web page list.

In your case, your contact form us here;

http://htauchner.bplaced.net/sonja/preise/index.html

Which is two sub directories down. The contact form won't work in there.

Instead you will have to make sure the directory/path field has ONLY your root directory in it.

Then in the subdirectory field, enter the sub directory you want to put your website in.

To clarify, the contact form will work if publish directly to your root folder OR to one level of sub directories by following the above instructions.

I don't remember your specific issue but if you are still having issues I can assure you it is most likely an easy fix or clarification. If not, we can get fix the problem if there is one in EverWeb. But I am not aware of any issues with contact forms used in this way.

My pages are in the root. I let ew do the publishing. I just found that the client wasn't getting email, so I changed it to Foxy. Seeing how this wasn't the first time I experienced problems with it, I didn't bother to trouble shoot it that deeply. It could be that Hotmail has a problem with the contact widget, I don't know. It worked with Foxy, so that's what I went with for now…

I'm fine with the $80.
The app is a great tool/update to an iWeb user. Couple work arounds is not a deal breaker for me.

Just FYI, we were able to improve this so that version 1.4.1 of EverWeb won't have this limitation anymore and you won't run into this problem.

OK if you run into issue in the future, please let us know and we'll be happy to help you out.

There were issues with the contact form earlier but we fixed all that we know about.

I'm using Wufoo for forms cause I have need for 3 or 4 so might as well have one service provide them all.
