| is it possible to have a linkable image slider? the one i use on my website has banners advertising items in the shop, ideally it would be great if you could link each banner within the slider to something but thats probably impossible to do at the moment! could i instead just turn the entire image slider into a link? so when you click it instead of it enlarging the image it could link to another page? | |

A new Slideshow Widgets pack has been created to take advantage of the new control features in EverWeb V 1.4. Most of these sliders now have captions and alt text and, in some cases, each image can be a hyperlink. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! The swipe slider is primarily aimed at mobile devices and autoplay is not recommended for this application. The Swipe Gallery widget launches a swipe enabled slider from a single thumbnail image and the control bar has the option for the visitor to play the slideshow if they can't summon up the energy to swipe. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! So it appears that the stock "Image Slider" widget doesn't do captions whereas the "Image Gallery" widget does. Slider is a much more attractive element on a previewed page; too bad it doesn't do captions. Which widget in your pack appears most like the Slider and which will do captions? And my the way Roddy, I've taken a look at your widget pack offerings and must say, by their descriptions, they sound great. |

None of the slideshow widgets are like the EW one in that it has the option of a thumbnail carousel. I have started to look at carousel type designs and the first one can be seen HERE. Everybody seems to want a different feature set and the EW slider is as near as possible to a Jack of all trades. In the short time that the slider pack was available I modified several of them to suit an EW user's specific requirements. ------------------------------- Roddy Website: http://everwebwidgets.com Contact: http://everwebwidgets.com/ewWidgets-home/contact.html NOTE: I am an EverWeb user and NOT affiliated with EverWeb! @ Roddy: Thanks for the added info. I think that one aspect is that there is no one size fits all WRT web image viewers. I experimented with your Swipe Gallery last night and found it to be pretty much what I'm looking for, especially having the ability to have several instances of the widget on the same page, creating, as you note in the description, a thumbnail gallery with each thumbnail acting as a gateway to a distinct slide show. Your creative efforts are much appreciated. -Tod |
