Do folders/directories get deleted when you delete a page?

| I noticed recently after splitting my website (seperating the shop from the main site) when i click publish it says for example file uploaded: shop/cds-page-1... etc. even though i've delete all these pages from this project as they are in their own project, do the directories not get deleted when you delete the pages? wondering because my site would upload a lot quicker if it wasn't checking pages that no longer exist. | |

Currently they do not but improving the publishing methods is high on our priority list so we hope to address this as soon as we can. I do not have a timeline of when it will be addressed though.
