Viewing Customized form tip: Jotform.

Customized form tip: Jotform.

User: Theo K. 9 years ago
I had been trying to implement a customized contact form on one of my websites and although Everweb has the option to add a contact form, it is too limited for some.
I first tried to use Google forms, but as many of you will agree, it is cumbersome and not very user friendly. The responses you get when someone uses a form are also not very easy to work with.

I finally found Jotform, a website that provides exactly what I was looking for. Creating forms with customized fields and being able to easily manage the responses.
A nice feature too is that you can seamlessly integrate the form into your website using a HTML snippet, like I did here:

Best of all, the service Jotform provides is free ! (with limits)

Oh, I am in no way affiliated with Jotform. I just wanted to share this with you.

Hi Theo,

Thanks for sharing your tip! JotForm is a great option and we are working on a good video tutorial to teach people how to integrate it. It's pretty straightforward as you have discovered.

We have a tutorial on using FoxyForm with EverWeb as well.

Great recommendation Theo, I've been using Jotform for a few years now. It's really easy to use, has all the essential features and is simple to implement.

Here's my go at it: http://synergyschoolradio.com/faqs/contact-us.html

On a similar theme, formstack.com is another great form generator. (Probably better...) I use formstack for collecting data at exhibitions - Visitors to our stand can either fill in their details using an iPad on the stand or we can take their details on our iPhones. What's awesome about this app is that A) It's really easy to use and has a nice clean interface, B) Following the submission of a form, you can setup an auto email send - This means all our visitors instantly get thank you emails from us (whilst at the exhibition) containing brochure links, prices etc. There are also filters for the emails, so you can setup multiple emails for different visitors based on fields they pick. C) Lastly (and the reason we use this over our in-house CRM system when out on the road at exhibitions) t if you install the app on your mobile devices, sign in with your account (so you have access to the form you setup via the formstack website) the app will run off line! Enabling you to collect data without an internet connection. For me, reliable internet is often slow or no go at exhibitions. This way as soon as your phone/iPad gets a signal, it will send the email and everything stays up to date.

Worth a look - the added email filtering and send feature is very cool. If I could be bothered, I would switch the EW sites contact form from Jotform to Formstack. There are some payment plans if you want to send the emails (something to keep in mind - this will cost a little bit of money - not a lot, but it will cost). I upgrade my account just on the months I need to use the Formstack, then downgrade straight after the exhibition. You can download the collected data as .csv for .xls etc.
