Site not saving or saving incorrectly. 1.4b7

User: Alan S. 12 years ago
I was using 1.4b7 for a few days and all seemed well. But then it stopped saving changes. Published all files correctly, but when I reopen the site on the beta many many items had changed. Like whole directories were missing. Attached are two screenshots. I had to go back to the current release version to rebuild. I have no idea why it would not save changes, but totally delete pages. Thank goodness for Time Machine. Maverick up to date, iMac

HI Alan,

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing.

Is it possible that you converted your Ghost Flowers directory to a regular page? You can do this by right clicking on it and selecting that option from the menu.

It turns out that the same problem is in the current release version as well. I used this directory redirect code (http://everwebcodebox.com/layout/directories.html) to make the Ghost Flower top level menu item redirect to a new page. It generates the correct site code and pages, but will not save correctly, it changes the top level directory into a page and deletes all the pages below it, as shown in the screenshots. I did use the redirect code to create an empty directory (pgartshow) to point to a page to correct my last "How to" issue, and that works. But there are no pages below that fake directory.

I'll need you to send me your website project file then so I can take a look. I need the project that has the FULL directory, not the project that has turned the directory into a regular page.

In the Projects window in EverWeb, right click on your website and select the 'Show On Disk' option.

**DO NOT move this file from this location on your computer**

Please compress the project file before sending it to me by right clicking on it and selecting Compress. You can upload it at http://ge.tt or http://www.dropbox.com and send the link to via our support page. In your email, mention it is for me and please post here when it is sent. In your email, also link to this forum so I know it relates to this issue.
