Publish Suppress for individual Pages

I would like to have an indicator on each page to prevent it being published. The first reason is that while a site is often being updated it would be useful to prevent pages which are not quite ready from being generated and uploaded which often takes some time. The second is that I have pages which are just a sort of testbed for each site where I can try out images, text styles and so on. I also have a documentation page where I record which styles, sizes and other useful information i am using within the site. This saves creating separate documentation files elsewhere and is also nice and wysiwyg. In this category I often have what I call template pages, which are similar to the everWeb templates and I can quickly duplicate them to start new pages. Sometimes everWeb Templates are not suitable because individual items cannot be changed on the pages using them. -Paul- |

I use "template" pages instead of master pages and usually keep one in each directory of larger sites. All I do is uncheck the box next to "Include Page In Navigation Menu".

Thanks for your suggestion. That is what I do right now, but it still uploads everything - including images - on those pages to the server. In iWeb, it was easier because separate projects were not necessarily separate files and so you could just drag pages down below to some pseudo project to prevent them being processed. -Paul- |
