Viewing Audio Widget

Audio Widget

The Audio Widget that does not preload but act as a streamer. For some who have 100's of audio files there needs to be a way to link to a file already on a server and the file loads only if chosen. Having the audio widget only accept a file on the hard drive then uploads defeats saving bandwidth and load time on webpage.

Thanks

If you want to stream audio, you need a streaming server. Then embed the receiving part in your webpage.

I once used Nicecast to stream audio from iTunes on my Mac.

Not really stream. You can always do HTTP Streams but what I was after was the idea of once the play button is selected it would go to server.com/audio.mp3 selected. This would auto load to local and then start playing asap. As it sits now if you have audio widgets lined up of 100 it will autoload 100 before you select play. This is unnecessary waste of bandwidth. iWeb did the same as it would load audio or video once the widget was on the page. The better way is allow to use a link if audio is already on a server other than your local everweb program laptop/desktop.

Find an audio player that has a playlist. Then the visitor can select the tunes it wants to hear.

Search for it :

Great. Thank you.

This would be a great widget for a future release in EverWeb 1.4 ;-)

The Audio Widgets HERE are prevented from preloading until the visitor selects one. This is obviously preferable - especially for the mobile version of a site.

An audio playlist widget is among some more advanced widgets that will be released in the next batch.
