EverWeb 1.3 Final Candidate 2

User: Paul-RAGESW 10 years ago
A new Final Candidate version of EverWeb is now available.

This version fixes problems with the contact form and with image reflections. It also brings back the 301 redirects which lets you redirect an old page (such as an old iWeb page) to a new EverWeb page. This lets you keep your SEO rankings from your old iWeb site;

Please let us know if you have any problems with this version. If not, it will be released as the official 1.3 release.

Paul, Is it possible to allow more customisation to the contact form, such an address field, post code field & the ability to add additional custom fields?

I'd really like to have the iWeb feature of being able to publish a website via EverWeb's (standalone version) inbuilt FTP. I see the facility is in the drop down, is it activated and ready to use as one can in iWeb? The other really useful feature would be iWeb's inbuilt 'Blog': I see you're planning to introduce a smarter version into EverWeb. When will this be available? I know there's a workaround but would really like to see this feature before going to the trouble of copying across all my existing blog entries. When will you have a beta to test?
Are you planning to introduce an easier way to revert directories back to ordinary pages in EverWeb? Are you planning to make it possible to create sub directories, so that these can appear automatically in the drop down menu? It would be great to have a little more flexibility in customising the drop down menu: also a more detailed video tutorial on this topic would be extremely helpful?

Hi Mike,

1. We are working on a more advanced form. For now you can use free services like JotForm which integrate easily with EverWeb.

2. The FTP publishing is ready to use in EverWeb 1.3

3. We are working on a blog but can't specify a timeline yet unfortunately. We are working hard on it though

4. Converting a directory to a regular page is tricky because once you do that you will lose any child pages within it. We'll look into it

5. If you need more customization of the navigation bar it is best to open a new thread and specify exactly what you need, besides just more levels of pages, which we are working on.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for replying so quickly Paul.

Will you publish a beta for people to test? If so, have you a target date to get this launched?

Could you accommodate this by looking to move any child pages to the root directory of the EverWeb site before reverting the directory to a normal Page? Obviously there's the workaround mentioned by Roddy, which I had already tried and thereby resolved my problem.

As a new EverWeb user I'm still learning what's possible and what's not. I found your video tutorials most helpful. If there was a more detailed video about the features of customising the drop down menu then everyone would know what's possible already. I could then prepare a list of features that I believe would be beneficial to have.

There are three videos about navigation menus, did you watch them all?

I am attempting to FTP to my own host with the new update, EverWeb keeps saying login fail. I know my info is correct. I am contacting my host as well, not sure where the problem lies. Anyone have a similar issue?

This section is for announcements. You would be better to post this as a new topic in the "How Do I…?" section so that others can find it.
