Image Gallery widget for slide shows?

User: Niels K. 10 years ago
Before I take the plunge with this software I need to know if it'll do what I want it to, specifically if it's possible to create a web site slideshow by creating an array of thumbnail images, then clicking on each one in order to bring up a larger image above. Is this something the Image Gallery widget is capable of? Would like some input on how to use it if so.

Yes you can do this with the Image Gallery widget. Just drag it onto your website and add your images.

You can do this with the demo version to see how it works. If you have any trouble using it, please let me know.

Having dragged my images onto the Image Gallery widget I'm at a loss on how to proceed to create a slide show. The Image Slider widget, on the other hand, appears to provide some functionality for this purpose, tho the thumbnails are too small. Where's the documentation that would explain how these things work? Failing that, are you able to explain?

When you click one of the images, it will automatically transition to the next image. You'll see the options for this in the Widget Options tab (last tab) in the Inspector while your image gallery is selected.

OK, I see how this works on previewing a web page; basically the Image Gallery widget plays a slide show where everything around the slide presentation is darkened. It's not what I'm looking for, instead I want the enlarged images to be displayed on my web page WITHOUT changing anything else. The Image Slider widget comes very close to delivering this functionality, with the exception that I don’t seem to be able to change the size, location or spacing of the thumbnails. Please advise on how this can be done.

Also the transition appears a little raggedy when fading from one slide to another; you really want a smooooth presentation for a more professional look.
