"Place it in the Head Code section in the Publishing settings field, not for each individual page. It is OK if you have something in there already, just post it underneath whatever you have in there already." What If you have more than one file to the same website (as we have three, one main and two that have to have site named)? Should i put code on the header of each site? By the way latest version of EW rocks ! |

Glad to hear you are liking EverWeb! Yes, place the analytics code in each project file's Head Section. ------------------------------- Paul EverWeb Developer |

The code doesn't go into the Header - it goes into the Head which is completely different! In actual fact it is far more efficient to paste analytics code into the Footer Code box so that it doesn't increase the page content download time. Quote: What If you have more than one file to the same website (as we have three, one main and two that have to have site named) If these sections of your website are created on separate project files in EverWeb you should add the analytics code to the Footer Code box in the Site Publishing Settings page of each project. ok if I am not worried about content load time of that particular page I can place in head . Or does it matter, am I concerned with the load time of all the pages? then it would matter.

The analytics code is on every page of the site. It makes more sense to have it in the footer since there is not much point in registering a page hit until the page has actually fully loaded and the visitor has a chance to look at the content!

Hi, I'm not sure if this is new or not (as I have never used Google Analytics before), but Google seems to stress on their site that you want to put the code in the <head>. Here is what they wrote: "For Google to use your Google Analytics tracking code for verification, the tracking code should be in the <head> (not the <body>) section of your page." I understand your point Roddy, but is this something new Google is doing sine you last posted? And should we start putting code in the <head>? |

No, it's nothing new. Google have always said this but it's better practice to put it in the body just before the closing </body> tag.
